Chennai, Oct 29 (UNI) The Left parties have no intention or plan to create a 'Third Front' in the immediate future and there is no threat to the Congress-led UPA Government at the Centre, Communist Party of India (Marxist) General Secretary Prakash Karat said today.

Talking to newspersons after calling on Tamil Nadu Chief Minister M Karunanidhi at the latter's CIT Nagar residence here, Mr Karat replied in the negative when asked whether he discussed the Third Front issue with the DMK leader.

''We did not discuss the Third Front. We have no intention or plan to create a Third Front in the immediate future'', he said.

Asked whether the UPA Government faced any threat in view of the fissures over the Indo-US nuclear deal, Mr Karat said ''there is no threat or crisis to the UPA Government''.

Mr Karat said he discussed the Indo-US Nuclear Deal with Mr Karunanidhi and explained to him all the current development on the issue. The party wants that all the political parties should have a common approach when the issue comes up for a debate in Parliament during the winter session.

The Marxist leader, who was here in connection with a party meeting, said whenever he visited the city, he took an opportunity to meet Mr Karunanidhi.
