India,Germany to give added dimension to strategic partnership

New Delhi, Oct 29 (UNI) India and Germany will hold high-level discussions here tomorrow, giving fresh impetus to their strategic partnership, and will sign several agreements for strengthening cooperation in areas including Defence, science and technology and intellectual property rights.

German Chancellor Angela Merkel, who arrives here tonight on her maiden visit to India, will hold discussions with Prime Minister Manmohan Singh on the entire gamut of bilateral relations.

An External Affairs Ministry spokesman said today that Defence cooperation between the two countries is growing and political cooperation has grown very significantly.

''We have adopted strategic dimension to the Indo-German partnership which cannot be complete without political partnership,'' he said.
