Heavy rains forecast in Andhra Pradesh, Tamil Nadu, Kerala

Pune, Oct 29 (UNI) The Northeast Monsoon has been vigorous in south coastal Andhra Pradesh, coastal Tamil Nadu and Kerala.

Heavy to very heavy rains are likely to occur at most places in south coastal Andhra Pradesh, Rayalseema, and north Tamil Nadu.

Heavy rains are likely to occur at many places in north coastal Andhra Pradesh, south Tamil Nadu, south interior Karnataka, Kerala, Andaman and Nicobar Islands and Lakshadweep.

Rain or thundershowers are likely to occur at Telangana, coastal and north interior Karnataka, and at isolated places in south Orissa, Jammu and Kashmir, Vidarbha, south Chattisgarh, south Konkan, Goa, south Madhya Maharashtra and Marathwada.

Mainly dry weather will prevail over the Arunachal Pradesh, Assam, Meghalaya, Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram, Tripura, West Bengal, Sikkim, north Orissa, Jharkhand, Bihar, Uttar Pradesh, Uttaranchal, Haryana, Punjab, Himachal Pradesh, Rajasthan, Madhya Pradesh, north Chattisgarh, Gujarat and north Konkan.

Heavy to very heavy rains have occurred at many places in south coastal Andhra Pradesh, Rayalseema and Tamil Nadu.

Rain or thundershowers have occurred at most places in south interior Karnataka, Kerala, Lakshadweep, at a few places in Andaman and Nicobar Islands, and at isolated places in coastal Karnataka.

Mainly dry weather prevailed over Arunachal Pradesh, Assam, Meghalaya, Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram, Tripura, Gangetic West Bengal, Orissa, Jharkhand, Bihar, Gujarat, Konkan, Goa, Marathwada, north coastal Andhra Pradesh, Telangana and north interior Karnataka.

Day temperatures were appreciably to markedly above normal in Himachal Pradesh, Kutch, Konkan and Goa, and were above normal in Orissa, Haryana, Himachal Pradesh, Rajasthan, Madhya Pradesh, and in some parts of Assam, Meghalaya, east Uttar Pradesh, Gujarat, coastal Andhra Pradesh and Telangana. They were markedly below normal in north Tamil Nadu, appreciably below normal in some parts of south coastal Andhra Pradesh, Rayalseema, and were below normal in south interior Karnataka. They were normal over the rest of the country.

Night temperatures were below normal in Manipur, Tripura, Punjab, north Madhya Maharashtra, north Tamil Nadu, and in some parts of Haryana and Telangana. They were appreciably to markedly above normal in Sub-Himalayan West Bengal and Sikkim, and in some parts of Bihar, and Rajasthan. They were above normal in some parts of Uttar Pradesh and Gujarat. They were normal over the rest of the country.
