Haryana Roadways employees to get ex-gratia

Chandigarh, Oct 29 (UNI) The Haryana government has decided to provide ex-gratia in lieu of bonus to all eligible class III and IV employees of the Haryana Roadways for 2006-07.

The decision would benefit about 17,000 employees of the Haryana Roadways, Haryana Transport Minister Mange Ram Gupta said here today.

Mr Gupta said the decision had been taken to provide the ex-gratia in lieu of bonus before Diwali to the Roadways employees so that they could celebrate Diwali in a befitting manner.

He said the ex-gratia in lieu of bonus would be given at the rate of Rs 3250 per year to each eligible employee.

The Transport Minister expressed his gratitude towards the Chief Minister Bhupinder Singh Hooda for giving his consent to provide bonus well in advance before Diwali to the employees of the Haryana Roadways.

The Transport Minister said as a result of the earnest efforts made by the workers and the other staff, the Haryana Roadways had earned a Profit Before Tax of Rs 62.67 crore during 2006-07 as against Rs 27.97 crore during 1999-2000.
