Jaipur, Oct 29 (UNI) Evaloc, a special fatty acid emulsion film coat evaporation retardant technique has proven effective in checking evaporation from lakes and dams saving over 9 million cubic meter water loss since 1983 from over 50 reservoirs in different parts of Maharashtra, Gujarat, Rajasthan, Karnaktaka and Tamil Nadu.

According to a report submitted at the 12th World Lake Conference here today, self spreading ultra thin emulsion film technique of a fatty acid compound is being used in several lakes and dams and other water bodies effectively to check water loss by evaporation.

The technique hs saved 45 per cent evaporation water loss from Tulsi dam in Mumbai city since 2001 and 39 per cent water loss from Nilona dam in Yavatmal city, The technique is being used in several reservoirs including, industrial storage tank in Hospet(Karnataka), Dapora Dam in Jalgaon, Rajsamand dam in Rajasthan and Nakane dam in Dhule city Maharastra.
