Central Committee commences hearing on SSCP

Chennai, Oct 29 (UNI) The Committee of Eminent Persons on Sethusamudram Shipping Channel Project today commenced its week-long hearing to ascertain the views of those concerned.

An official release here said the hearing would continue till November three.

''All persons interested in the project can appear before the Committee between 1000 hrs and 1700 hrs and present their views,'' the release added.

The Committee was constituted by the Centre after the Supreme Court stayed dredging in the Adam's bridge area following widespread opposition to the demolition of the bridge, which the Hindu outfits claim as constructed by Lord Ram.
