Gandhinagar, Oct 29 (UNI) In the run up to hold free and fair assembly elections, the Chief Election Commissioner N Gopalaswamy will pay a three-day visit to Central and South Gujarat and supervise the poll preparations by the district administrations.
The CEC will reach Surat tomorrow and hold a meeting with election officers from Surat, Navsari, Dangs and Valsad districts.
He will also meet police officials.
Mr Gopalaswamy will reach Vadodara on October 31, where he will hold review meetings with Vadodara, Bharuch, Godhra, Dahod and Narmada districts officials.
Before returning to New Delhi, the CEC will have a meeting with Vadodara police commissioner and senior police officials of all districts. This will be second visit of CEC to Gujarat, after the announcement of the poll schedule on October 10.
