Hyderabad, Oct 29 (UNI) The BJP Andhra Pradesh unit today condemend the attack on party state President Bandaru Dattatraya by the All India Majlis Ittehadul Muslimin (AIMIM) activists.

Talking to newspers here, party spokesperson D K Samarasimha Reddy said the attack on Dattatreya while he was going to participate in a meeting on 'Save Hyderbad' at Borabanda this morning was as an act of the fundamentalists.

''It is the handiwork of the anti-democratic elements. Everyone has a right to express their views and speak,' he said.

Alleging that the police had neither arrested the 'fundamentalists' nor filed cases against them, Mr Reddy demanded that the state government provide security to the BJP leaders, who were facing threat from terrorists.

Demanding that the police arrest AIMIM leader and MP Asaduddin Owaisi for his reported remark that the BJP and the VHP were behind the May 18 Mecca masjid blasts and August 25 twin blasts in the city, party leader N Ramachandra Rao said the BJP held demonstrations at various places in the state in protest against the attack on Dattatraya.
