UDF trying to protect RSS- ABVP in the Changanacherry issue: Vaikom

Kottayam, Oct 28 (UNI) LDF Convenor Vaikom Viswan today charged that former Chief Minister Oommen Chandy and other UDF leaders were trying to protect the ABVP-RSS accused in the police officer's murder case.

At a news conference here today the LDF convenor charged that congress party was supporting the communal and anti social elements as part of the unholy nexus between the congress and BJP and with an eye on the next election.

Even though police had arrested the accused immediately after the death of the police officer, the UDF and BJP leaders including O Rajagopal were trying to justify the accused. Police persons who were eyewitness of the incident had only arrested the accused, he contended.

Meanwhile Akhil Bharatiya Vidyarthi Parishad (ABVP) national secretary P Sandeep today said that in protest against the arrest and torturing of the innocent ABVP Activists in connection with the death of the police officer and demanding stern action against the police officers an education Bandh would be staged in the district tomorrow. Protest demonstrations would be staged throughout the state and would burn the effigy of the home minister.
