Rs 100 Crore project for Keola Dev National Park wetland

Jaipur, Oct 28 (UNI) A Rs 100 crore project for augmentation of water supply to the wetland in Keola Dev National Park (Ghana bird sanctuary) in Bharatpur, is pending before the Planning Commission, Union Minister of State for Environment and Forest Namo Narain Meena said.

Talking to journalists here today, Mr Meena said his Ministry had got the project proposal from the Rajasthan Government and the same had been forwarded to the Planning Commission for clearance.

He said the Rs 24 crore project for due development of the Mansagar (Jal Mahal) lake in Jaipur city was also being implemented with 70 per cent funding by the Centre and 30 per cent the State Government respectively. The Centre had already released its share of Rs 17.30 crore for the project.

Mr Meena said steps were also being taken up for dealing with over extraction of water from the Sambharlake by salt manufacturing units and said that his ministry would ensure due action in coordination with the State Government.

He also essured proper planning and action for conservation of silicide lake of Alwar district.
