Red alert in Mayurbhhanj after Chilkhadi massacre
Baripada, Oct 28 (UNI) The Orissa governmment today has sounded red alert in the Naxalte infested Mayurbhanj district following the killing of nineteen people in Giridih district of Jharkhand on Friday midnight by armed Maoists.
Police said the security has been beefed up in at least four police station areas bordering Jharkhand as a precautionary measures following the incident.
The four police stations where the combing operations have been intensified included Jharpokharia, Bangriposi, Besoi and Gorumahisani, Superintendent of Police S K Singh said.
The Jawans of the CRPF and the Special Operation Group(SOG) have been deployed to intensify the combing operations in the areas located in close proximity of the neighbouring Jharkhand, Mr Singh added.
