North-east monsoon active in Tamil Nadu

Pune, Oct 28(UNI) The northeast monsoon has been active in Tamil Nadu.

Day temperatures were above normal in coastal Saurashtra and Kutch and in some parts of Konkan and coastal Karnataka and in Arunachal Pradesh, Assam and Meghalaya, Manipur, Gangetic West Bengal, Himachal Pradesh, Rajasthan and Telangana, in some parts of Madhya Pradesh and Chattisgarh and in remaining parts of Konkan and of coastal Karnataka and below normal in some parts of Tamil Nadu and of south interior Karnataka. They were normal over the rest of the country.

Night temperatures were below normal in Manipur and some parts of Vidarbha and Telangana and below normal in some parts of Madhya Maharashtra, Marathwada and coastal Tamil Nadu and in remaining parts of Vidarbha. They were above normal in Sub-Himalayan West Bengal and Sikkim, Haryana, Himachal Pradesh, Rajasthan and Kutch and in some parts of Uttar Pradesh and Konkan and Goa. They were normal over the rest of the country.

Heavy to very heavy rains are likely to occur at most places in south coastal Andhra Pradesh, Rayalaseema, Tamil Nadu, Kerala, Andaman and Nicobar Islands, Lakshadweep.

Heavy rains are likely at many places in north coastal Andhra Pradesh and coastal Karnataka.

Rain or thundershowers are likely at many places in Telangana, south interior Karnataka and at a few places in north interior Karnataka and at isolated places in south Konkan and Goa.

Mainly dry weather will prevail over the Gujarat State, north Konkan, Madhya Maharashtra and Marathwada.

Heavy rains have occurred at most places in Kerala and at many places in Andaman and Nicobar Islands.

Very light rains have occurred at isolated places in Konkan and Goa.

Rain or thundershowers have occurred at most places in Lakshadweep and at many places in Tamil Nadu, coastal Karnataka and a few places in Rayalaseema, south interior Karnataka and at isolated places in Sub-Himalayan West Bengal and Sikkim and coastal Andhra Pradesh. Mainly dry weather prevailed over the Arunachal Pradesh, Assam and Meghalaya, Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram, Tripura, Gangetic West Bengal, Orissa, Jharkhand, Bihar, Gujarat State, Madhya Maharashtra, Marathwada, Telangana and north interior Karnataka.
