Nandigram, Oct 28 (UNI) Even as AITC supremo Mamata Banerjee called for a 12-hour bandh here, the CPI(M) today made a counter call for a bandh tomorrow in Khejuri, protesting the killing of four of their supporters by BUPC activists early today.

CPI(M) sources claimed that four of their supporters were attacked by BUPC supporters and were killed on the spot.

BUPC sources, however, maintained that they were killed while making bombs in the CPI(M) relief camp at Sherkhanchak.

Police have, however, stated that Tapan Manna, Srimanta Das, and Dhiren Das, who were wounded while making bombs were admitted to Tamluk hospital.

Meanwhile, after taking part in a sit-in-strike over Tekhali bridge this evening for about one and half hour, AITC supremo Mamata Banerjee left for Nandigram police station this evening.

While talking to the newspersons in front of the police station, she demanded a CBI inquiry to find out why the district administration withdrew police camp from Nandigram a couple of days back.

Meanwhile, SP East Midnapore district has denied any knowledge of firing on Mamata's convoy this evening.

The 12-hour bandh was total yet peaceful in the whole of East Midnapore District, the SP said.
