Kannur, Oct 28 (UNI) Stating that a comprehensive investigation will be needed in the Panniyar Pipe line burst in which seven persons were killed, Kerala Electricity Minister A K Balan today said any kind of inquiry into the tragedy can be initiated only after the report from the present panel which investigated it was finalised.
"The report from the panel which is investigating the tragedy is yet to be got. Once it is got, then only it could be decided on what type of inquiry was needed", he told reporters here.
He said the Kerala State Electricity Board would sign the agreement with the Gujarat Power Corporation and Orissa Hydro Power for joint-exploration of the Vydarani West Coal fields.
When asked if the tariff would be increased, Mr Balan said the situation was that tariffs should have to be increased but no such decision was taken now.
