Centre asks states to set up lake and wetland authority
Jaipur, Oct 28 (UNI) The Centre has asked all state governments to set up the Lake and Wetland Development Authority in their respective states to ensure proper conservation and development of lakes and wetlands, Union Minister of State for Environment Namo Narain Meena said today.
''The state level bodies will be headed by Chief Secretary of the respective state,'' the Minister said.
Mr Meena said some of the states like Karnataka had already set up the authority while Rajasthan was contemplating for the same.
