Jaipur, Oct 28 (UNI) About 700 delegates from 60 countries would participate in the five-day 12th World Lake Conference--TAAL 2007 -- to be inaugurated by President Pratibha Devisingh Patil here tomorrow morning.
The conference, to be attended by experts from around the world, will discuss ways in which lakes can be conserved, Union Environment and Forests Minister Namo Narain Meena told reporters here this evening.
He said that Japan has sent largest delegation comprising 60 delegate experts while China has sent a 30 member delegation to attend the event.
It is for the first time that this conference is being held in South Asia. It will provide a unique platform for interaction between scientists, researchers, technologists and policy makers from different parts of the world, Mr Meena added.
