Baripada, Oct 27 (UNI) The tourism zone of the Simlipal Tiger Reserve (STR) and National Park will reopen for the visitors from November 4 next, STR Field Director Debabrata Swain said here today.

Due to unprecedented rains, the road communication network inside the reserve was badly damaged compelling the park managers to reopen the tourism zone in a phased manner.

In the first phase, visitors would be allowed to enter the park through the Kalikaprasad gate via Jashipur on and from November 4.

In the second phase, visitors would be allowed to enter the reserve via Lulung from November 15 next, Mr Swain said.

Referring to the restrictions imposed on the entry of four-wheelers into the Park, STR sources said a maximum number of 40 four-wheelers would be permitted to enter daily into the reserve via Jashipur, while another twenty four-wheelers would be allowed via the Lulung Checkgate.
