Ludhiana, Oct 27 (UNI) The Punjab Government will frame a new cultural policy to ensure proper preservation and development of rich Punjabi culture and heritage.
Disclosing this here today, Punjab Chief Minister's Media Advisor Harcharan Bains said that funds would be no constraint for this purpose.
He was addressing the writers and students at a function after releasing a Punjabi Book " Palli Bhupinder Singh Da Naat Parvachan " edited by Dr Ravel Singh and Dr Nirmal Jaura, at Master Tara Singh Memorial College for Women here.
Dr Bains, acknowledging the untiring works of committed writers for the creation and passing of the literature to the next generations, said that it was the duty of the Culture organizations and government to properly maintain the heritage and culture institutions, so that the younger generation could seek inspiration.
Dr Bains, citing couplets of renowned poets Dr Ilama Iqbal and Surjit Patar, said that the writers were the real mirror of the society and they had to put in their lives to create the literature.
He said that the society should also accord them full respect and assistance so that they could write in an congenial atmosphere.
Highly appreciating the contribution of Dr Surjit Patar in enriching the Punjabi literature, Dr Bains said that Dr Pattar had written on all aspects of life and his poetry was very near to the true picture of the society.
Dr Bains, extending his felicitation to Pali Bhupinder Singh Punjabi Play Writer, the author of the book, said that his Plays were playing an important role in guiding and educating the people on different burning issues successfully. He said that the young writers should be fully encouraged by the social and educational organizations.
Later interactingn with media persons, Dr Bains said that the Media Corporation was being set up shortly and the Chief Minister of Punjab had already accorded his approval for it.
