Option to form government is open-BJP

Bangalore, Oct 27 (UNI) Even as a section of Janata Dal (S) legislators are trying to form the next government in Karnataka, the Bharatiya Janata Party today, in a sudden development said that it will keep its options to form a government once again to avert mid term polls.

The BJP which has been consistently seeking fresh elections to the Assembly, after withdrawing support to the Kumaraswamy led government, has now kept its options open for forming an alternate government.

BJP State President D V Sadananda Gowda told newsmen here today said that though there was no change in the stand taken by the party to go for the elections, the BJP was ready to form the government if any other party is ready to join its hands.

Stating that so far there is no proposal from any party for forming the government, he said that the party is closely watching the latest developments in the state and is busy planning its strategies periodically.

He said that the party leaders including senior party leader Venkaiah Naidu are at a meeting to keep a close watch on the developments like former Home Minister M P Prakash going to New Delhi to meet Congress leaders in connection with forming a government.

The party has no plans to meet the Governor today, he said.
