One shot dead in Manipur, two nabbed

Imphal, Oct 27 (UNI) A militant was shot dead and two hardcore militants were nabbed in two separate incidents during the past 24 hours, police said here today.

A suspected militant was shot dead by the Imphal East District Police Commandos at Langol Games Village here late last night.

One 9 mm pistol was recovered, police said adding that a man was killed in an encounter and two of his accomplices had managed to escape.

In yet another incident, two United National Liberation Front cadres were nabbed at Chandel district and handed over to police yesterday, Assam Rifles PRO said.
