Hyderabad, Oct 27 (UNI) The Indian Journalists Union (IJU) today strongly condemned the ban on private television channels Aaj Tak, Headlines Today, NDTV and CNN-IBN in Gujarat for telecasting Tehelka's expose on 2002 Post-Godhra riots in the state.

In a statement here, IJU Secretary General K Srinivasa Reddy charged that the ban on these channels was an attack on Freedom of Press guaranteed in the Constitution.

Demanding that the Gujarat government lift the ban on these channels, Mr Reddy urged the Centre to immediately intervene and set things right in Gujarat.

Calling upon the journalist fraternity to raise their voice against the authoritarian actions of the Narendra Modi government, he also condemned Gujarat government's move to file an FIR against Aaj Tak Ahmedabad reporter.
