EC Committee constituted to entertain grievances

Shillong, Oct 27 (UNI) Chief Electoral Officer in Meghalaya has informed that a committee has been constituted for the redress of grievances of political parties or candidates regarding election matters in the state.

Under the directions of the Election Commission of India, the committee has been set up with the CEO, Meghalaya, as its chairperson and the Election Commission and Director of Information and Public Relation as members, an official release said here today.

The function of the committee was to entertain complaints and grievances of any political party of candidate or any other person regarding to decisions to grant or refuse certification of an advertisement by registered political parties having their headquarters in the state of Meghalaya or by organisations or groups of persons or association having their registered offices in Meghalaya, it added.

Assembly Election is scheduled to be held early next year in Meghalaya.
