Lucknow, Oct 27 (UNI) Admitting that the party had lost a lot of its ground in politics, Bharatiya Janata Party President Rajnath Singh today gave a clarion call to party workers in Uttar Pradesh to gear up for the next Lok Sabha polls.

He asked them to get rid of negativity to help BJP regain its lost glory and be counted when it was required the most before the Lok Sabha polls. Mr Singh said this while inaugurating the two-day UP State Working Committee meet here this afternoon.

Senior party leader L K Advani would address the concluding session of the meet tomorrow.

He said there was no doubt that a strong UP unit would be handy while realising the dream of the party to regain power at the Centre. ''I urge and believe that the BJP party workers in UP would leave no stone unturned to stregthen the party in the state,'' he said.

The BJP president said he had no hesitation in accepting that the party was not in the same position as it used to be a few years back but still the damage could be repaired by sheer hard work and focussed approach towards making the party number one in Uttar Pradesh.

He said the time was ripe for the party to go for a kill as the general elections could take place anytime and the party's performance in UP would count a lot if the power at the Centre had to be got.

Suggesting party workers to evolve ways and means to introspect into the party's dismal performance in the last elections here, the BJP leader said if the past mistakes could be amended, only sky was the limit.

Exhorting his partymen to adopt systematic approach to strengthen the party organisation right from top to the booth level, he said the honest and effective implementation of party's principles and policies would go a long way in making the party a potent force once again.
