Patna, Oct 27 (UNI) The BJP today demanded that Prime Minister Manmohan Singh sack Railway Minister Lalu Prasad for allegedly utilising the services of trains to ensure the presence of RJD activists in tomorrow's party rally.
In a release here, BJP MLA Rameshwar Chaurasia and state party spokesman Vinod Narain Jha said every political party could hold rally but misuse of government machineries in contravention with the rules and regulations were not acceptable in a republic state.
Mr Prasad was expending crores of rupees for the rally and it was a matter of investigation to trace its roots, he alleged and said it might be related to "infamous fodder scam or any other scam".
'' It is really disgusting to note that a poltical party like the RJD, which never fails to project itself as champion of the poor and downtrodden, is spending crores of rupees for the rally while tunrning a nelson's eye to the suffering people, '' they lamented.
Mr Chaurasia said he had written a letter to Prime Minister Manmohan Singh about the "misuse" of trains for holding the rally.
'' If Mr Prasad is so much assured of his mass base, he should not have booked special trains for transporting rallyists, '' he observed.
