Ahmedabad, Oct 27 (UNI) Dhiman Purohit, Gujarat Chief of Aaj Tak TV news channel, today denied his involvement in the sting operation carried out by Tehelka on the post-Godhra riots.

Mr Purohit told UNI that police complaint filed against him by the Public Prosecutor Arvind Pandya claiming breach of trust and cheating is ''false and baseless''.

He said the entire sting operation was carried out by Tehelka, and his channel 'Aaj Tak' was not involved in it. Aaj Tak had only aired an ''add on'', which has already been clarified by the channel's central headquarter in New Delhi, he added.

Earlier, in the morning in a press conference, Mr Pandya had claimed that he had very good relations with Mr Purohit and the latter had misused the relationship.

He said that Mr Purohit had sent two youth to him with a request and he had obliged them after confirming their identity with Mr Purohit over the phone.
