Three families return to J

Baramulla, Oct 26 (UNI) Three families surrendered before the authorities soon after crossing the Line of Control (LoC) from Pakistan-occupied Kashmir (PoK) where they had gone in 1992, official sources said today.

They said the three families, comprising three men, as many women and eleven children, came up to the LoC at Golian in Uri sector of Jammu and Kashmir from PoK.

At the LoC, the members of the families raised their hands and informed the Army personnel that they want to surrender and return to their homes in Jammu and Kashmir, the sources added.

They said the troops, guarding the LoC, allowed the families to cross over to this side. The families then surrendered before the personnel of 6 Bihar Regiment, the sources added.

These families had crossed over to PoK in 1992, the sources said, adding the three men have been identified as Rafiq Hussain, Mohammad Akbar and Sirajuddin.

The sources said the families want to lead a peaceful life in their native places.
