Man, mother sentenced for abetting suicide

Vadodara, Oct 26 (UNI) A man and his mother were sentened to five years and three years jail terms respectively by a Vadodara fast track court here today for abetting the suicide of the former's wife.

Junaid Siddiqui Amdani's wife Ajima had committed suicide at her inlaws place in Memon colony, near Ayurvedic college following harrassment by Junaid and his mother Kulsum Bibi on July 30, 2000.

Ajima had doused herself with kerosene and had died on the spot in the blaze.

In a complaint filed by Ajima's father Yahayam Sattarbhai Dayala a case was registered against the two by the Panigate police station.
