Bangalore, Oct 26 (UNI) Former Karnataka Chief Minister N Dharam Singh today said that JD (S) seems to be heading for a split following the efforts by former Home Minister M P Prakash to form a new coalition government with the help of Congress.
Mr Singh told reporters here, that Mr Prakash had already submitted a list of JD(S) legislators supporting him to join hands with Congress and the matter is under consideration by the party High Command.
"JD (S) seems to have been split if one looks at the developments taking place after the Centre imposed the Presidents rule in the State", he added.
Mr Singh said that Ms Sonia Gandhi would take final decision on whether to accept the offer of support by JD (S) faction headed by Mr Prakash or to seek fresh mandate will emerge only after she returns from China.
Mr Singh said the party would consider the demand of party MLAs to hold a Congress Legislature Party meeting in view of the ongoing political developments.
