Islamabad, Oct 26 (UNI) Pakistan President Pervez Musharraf said the government would not allow any foreign agency or the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) to interrogate the nuclear scientist Dr Abdul Qadeer Khan.

While talking to MNAs belonging to the ruling party and its allies at the Pakistan Prime Minister House last night, he said, ''If anyone has questions, he should send us and we will conduct the probe ourselves.'' He said the government would not allow any foreign forces to conduct operations on Pakistan's territory.

Talking about the National Reconciliation Ordinance, Gen Musharraf said the main purpose of the ordinance was to create an atmosphere of reconciliation in the country and to end the politics of vendetta, Geo TV reported.

''This is being done in the best national interests,'' he added.

Gen Musharraf ruled out the dissolution of the local governments prior to the general elections. He also dismissed the demand of the Pakistan People's Party for foreign assistance in investigating the Karachi blasts and said that investigations would be carried out by the country's own agencies and all those involved in these blasts would be brought to justice.
