Bangalore, Oct 26 (UNI) Former Karnataka Chief Minister and Samajwadi Party State unit President S Bangarappa today predicted mid-term election in the State stating that forming alternate government by any political party was remote.
"SP would gear up to face the election" Mr Bangarappa said after being felicitated on his 75th birthday here.
He said that after fall of JD(S)-BJP coalition and imposition of President rule there was no alternative left but to go for elections. "No party is in a position to stake claim to form government and elections was imminent," he added.
Mr Bangarappa said that he would launch a state-wide tour from next week to activise the party workers and create awareness among the public.
Expressing confidence that a third front would emerge in the country after the mid-term poll to Karnataka assembly, Mr Bangarappa appealed to all the right thinking people to join hands to fight against communal, corrupt and castist forces and work for building a strong society. "Time has come to wage struggle to establish class-less society" he added.
