Sugar prices down again on larger stock arrivals

Navi Mumbai, Oct 25 (UNI) Wholesale sugar prices declined for the fourth consecutive day today on sustained heavy offers by stockists in view of larger arrival of stocks from co-operative mills, traders at the Bombay Sugar Merchants Association said.

Prices of small and medium grades (per quintal) dropped again by Rs ten and Rs five respectively due to thin bulk consumers demand.

Sugar in ex-mill small and medium grades (per quintal) also eased by Rs 15 each owing to increase in offers by stockists, traders said.

Following are the spot wholesale rates per quintal: Small grade: Rs 1,346/1,396, Medium grade: Rs 1,395/1,496.

Ex-mill mall grade: Rs 1,325/1,355, Medium grade: Rs 1,375/1435.
