Registration of marriages compulsory for all religions: SC
New Delhi, Oct 25 (UNI) The Supreme Court today made it clear that its earlier judgement, making registration of marriages compulsory, would be applicable to people belonging to all religions.
A bench, headed by Chief Justice K G Balakrishnan, granted three months time to the Centre, states and Union Territories to implement its directions.
The apex court directed that no further extension of time would be granted to any state .
The court also pulled up the West Bengal Government for dealing with its directions in a ''casual manner''.
