Pondy, TN officials meet to prevent liquor smuggling

Puducherry, Oct 25 (UNI) In a bid to prevent manufacturing and smuggling of illicit spirit and Indian Made Foreign Liquor(IMFL) in Cuddalore, Villuppuram, Tiruvarur and Nagapattinam districts of Tamil Nadu adjoining the Puducherry and Karaikal regions of the Union Territory, a joint meeting of the excise officials from Tamil Nadu and Puducherry was held today.

In a release here, Puducherry Excise Collector Theva Neethi Das said Tamil Nadu Deputy General of Police, prohibition wing, Maseeramuthu presided over the meeting in which officials exchanged their views.

The team also exchanged the list of criminals on both sides, the release said.
