MDMK, DMK men clash at public meeting

Tension
prevailed
at
Badlagundu,
when
a
group
of
men
belonging
to
the
DMK
pelted
stones
and
footwear
at
a
public
meeting
organised
by
Marumalarchi
DMK
(MDMK)
leaving
ten
persons
with
injuries,
late
last
night.
Trouble started when MDMK Propoganda Secretary Nanjil Sampath made scathing attack and allegedly made some derogatory remarks against Tamil Nadu Chief Minister and DMK Supremo M Karunanidhi at the meeting.
Enraged DMK men indulged in violence in which as many as ten MDMK volunteers suffered bleeding injuries.
Additional police forces rushed to the scene and brought the situation under control. Later, police arrested Mr Sampath for making derogatory remarks under Section 446 of the IPC.
