Vadodara, Oct 25 (UNI) Neokala Art Gallery will sponsor a three-day exhibition ''Digital Renaissance'' showcasing digital works of Dr Sudhir Desphande, an artist of international repute from Pune, at Taj Residency from October 27.
A preview of the Exhibition is slated tomorrow at 1900 hrs.
''Digital Renaissance'' throws light on the connection between art, communication and technology.
Dr Deshpande is a well-known painter and sculptor and chooses his medium from metal, wood or other durable materials. Many of his sculptures, murals are based upon abstract ideas and his paintings dwell on Vedic philosophy. He has also worked on sculptures that involve movement, music, water and light.
His creation ''The powerful'', a structure 55 feet tall and weighing 27 tonnes constructed entirely out of scrap metal, was listed in the Limca Book of Records in 1992.
He earned world-wide recognition with his entry into the Guinness Book of Records in 1992 for creating the tallest metal sculpture in the world.
Dr Deshpande has public and private collections of his work in Germany, France, England, Scotland and USA.
