Central sponsored schemes to be implemented in toto: MLA

Jalandhar, Oct 25 (UNI) Bharatiya Janata Party MLA from Jalandhar (North) KD Bhandari has said that the Central sponsored schemes would not only be fully utilised but would also be effectively implemented.

In his key address at the Bharat Nirman-Public Information Campaign being organised here by the Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, Mr Bhandari said the Central sponsored schemes would not only benefit the rural people but would also help in the overall development of the state.

He said that the state government would take maximum advantage of the Central sponsored schemes and it would send proposals to the Centre in order to avail maximum funds for the state projects under these schemes.

The funds provided by the Centre for the projects would be spent without any discrimination in the areas represented by respective representatives of the people, he said adding that there would be a uniform policy for the distribution of such funds for the development of all the constituencies in the State.

He said, "The time has come to work unitedly for the welfare and development of the state as well as the people." Mr Bhandari applauded the policy of the Central government for reducing dropouts in the schools at primary level and introducing Sarva Shiksha Abhiyan to ensure education to all.

On the occasion, the MLA distributed cheques worth Rs 3.14 lakh to the heads of 34 primary and upper schools of the North constituency under Sarva Shiksha Abhiyan. He also honoured several sarpanches and panchayat members of different village panchayats.
