100 AIADMK volunteers held for road blockade
Puducherry, Oct 25 (UNI) About 100 volunteers of the AIADMK were arrested when they put up a road blockade on the airport road, here today.
The agitation was led by former Legislator and Party Joint-Secretary A M Krishnamurty to protest against the failure of the government to construct tenements at Kottuppalayam, near here as announced in the assembly and alleged corrouption in the distribution of free house sites.
When police attempted to arrest the volunteers, they took out a procession stating that they were marching to the office of the District Collector peacefully to submit a memorandum.
