Talks on digital meters between govt, committee inconclusive

Hyderabad, Oct 24 (UNI) The talks between Andhra Pradesh state Transport Minister K Laxminarayana and representatives of the anti-auto digital meters struggle Committee were inconclusive.

According to a release here today, Committee leader Mohd Amanullah Khan said the talks did not draw any result as the members expressed their strong protest against the government's decision of replacing the existing mechanical meters with digital meters in autorickshaws in the twin cities of Hyderabad and Secunderabad.

He said the government's dicision would harm the livelihood of auto-drivers and their families. The Minister has promised to fix another meeting with the Committee leaders in the next ten-days.

Heated arguments between the minister, officials concerned and Committee members were witnessed during the talks.
