Sugar slips again on thin demand from bulk consumers
Navi Mumbai, Oct 24 (UNI) Wholesale sugar prices drifted lower for the third consecutive day today on lack of fresh demand from bulk consumers in view of large arrival of stocks from cooperative mills, traders at the Bombay Sugar Merchants Association said.
Prices of small and medium grades (per quintal) eased again by Rs ten and Rs five respectively due to increased offers from stockists.
Sugar in ex-mill small and medium grades (per quintal) also fell by Rs 10 each owing to poor buying support, traders added.
Following are the spot wholesale rates per quintal: Small grade: Rs 1,356/1,395, Medium grade: Rs 1,395/1,496.
Ex-mill mall grade: Rs 1,340/1,370, Medium grade: Rs 1,380/1420.
