New Delhi, Oct 24 (UNI) The Hindi Salahkar Samiti of the Steel Ministry has expressed happiness over the progressive use of Hindi in the ministry and its Public Sector Undertakings (PSUs).
Apprising the members of the Samiti of national level recognition of use of Hindi by the Ministry at a meeting held in Vishakhapatnam last evening, Samiti Chairman Alka Balram Kshatriya noted that the ministry has been progressively using Hindi under the guidance of the Samiti.
The ministry has been awarded with 'Indira Gandhi Rajbhasha Shield' (Third Prize) for the year 2005-06 for the progressive use of Hindi.
National Mineral Development Corporation (NMDC), Hyderabad, a PSU of the Steel Ministry has been awarded 'Indira Gandhi Rajbhasha Shield' (First Prize) for the year 2005-06 under the category of PSUs in region 'C' while Steel Authority of India Ltd (SAIL) bagged the First Prize in 2006-07 for publishing the Best Magazine by the PSUs.
Congratulating the ministry for the achievements, Mr Kshatriya hoped that the Ministry and its PSUs will continue to win such awards in the future also.
According to official sources, the Samiti members held detailed discussions and made concrete suggestions regarding the progressive use of Hindi in the ministry and its PSUs.
Senior officials from 11 PSUs and the ministry participated in the meeting, the sources added.
