Land reforms of Communists a failure : Chandy
Alappuzha, Oct 24 (UNI) Opposition Leader in Kerala Assembly Oomen Chandy today alleged that the land reforms initiated by the Communists were a failure and it pushed the people to the brink of poverty.
Addressing a gathering, after inaugurating a seminar and study class organised by the District Committee of Karshaka Congress here, Mr Chandy said '' the Communists took excess land and distributed it to undererving people with favourable political inclinations.'' The Congress leader demanded an inquiry into the sale of excess land at 'R Block' in Kuttanad.
Mr Chandy alleged that various agricultural policies of the LDF government had aggravated the farmers' problems.
