JD(S) to wait for Congress' response: Kumaraswamy
Bangalore, Oct 24 (UNI) The JD(S) will wait for the Congress' response regarding the proposal to form a coalition government in Karnataka to avoid mid-term polls, former Chief Minister H D Kumaraswamy said today.
Talking to newspersons here, he said his party would take a final decision on the issue after getting reply from the Congress.
''We have done whatever we could. Now ball is in the Congress' court,'' Mr Kumarswamy said referring to the initiative taken by former Home Minister M P Prakash in paving way for the formation of a new coalition government with the help of Congress.
He said as a senior leader and in the interest of the party, Mr Prakash had taken the initiative as many of the legislators wanted to avoid mid-term elections.
Ruling out the possibility of a split in the party, he said the party was united on the issue and would take an unanimous decision.
