Gujarat EC receives 46 complaints of code violation

Ahmedabad, Oct 24 (UNI) The Gujarat Election Commission has received 46 complaints about violation of model code of conduct in the state till yesterday.

Till yesterday, five complaints were each from Surendranagar and Mehsana districts, while no complaint has been recorded from districts like Patan, Gandhinagar, Banaskantha, Sabarkantha, Anand, Narmada and Dangs, said chief electoral officer of Gujarat Vinod Babbar, in a release here today.

Giving the numberwise break-up of complaints from other districts, he said two complaints have been received from Kutch, five from Surendranagar, two from Rajkot, four from Jamnagar, two from Porbandar, two from Junagadh, three from Amreli, two from Bhavnagar, two from Ahmedabad, five from Mehsana, two from Dahod, three from Panchmahals, two from Kheda, four from Vadodara, three from Bharuch and one each from Navsari, Surat and Valsad, totalling 46, Mr Babbar added.
