Cooperative bank employees on strike in TN
Chennai, Oct 24 (UNI) Functioning of the cooperative banks in Tamil Nadu was affected today as the employees observed a day's strike to press their demands.
Tamil Nadu Cooperative Bank Employees Asociation General Secretary P Balakrishnan, in a statement here, said employees working in 22 of the 23 district central cooperative banks, Tamil Nadu State cooperate, state agriculture and rural development bank, 180 primary agriculture and rural development banks participated in the strike.
Their demands included resurrection of rural development banks which were in bad shape and provision of financial assistance to primary agriculture and rural development banks and to fill up vacancies in district central cooperative banks.
