Kolkata, Oct 24 (UNI) The West Bengal CID would hand over to CBI all its investigation reports in the unexplained death of computer graphics teacher Rizwanur Rehman as the Central agency continued with the probe for the fifth day today.
''CID has already handed over to CBI several documents. There are many more left to be parted with if asked for,'' Home Secretary Prasad Ranjan Ray told reporters today.
The Home Secretary's statement came a day after Director General of Police Anup Vohra asked senior police officers to co-operate with CBI and not to give an impression that CID was reluctant in extending a helping hand.
CID, which had already probed the case, had earlier reportedly said it would provide all documents but not their investigation details to the CBI.
CID had to wind up its investigation after CBI stepped in following a court order.
The investigation details included the record of all the people CID examined, videography of the place of death, CDs of the recorded statement of some key persons like Rizwanur's widow, Priyanka Todi, her father Ashoke Todi, the prime accused in the case and others.
Meanwhile, CBI sleuths interrogated a former girl friend of Rizwanur while gathering more information from the multi-media centre he was attached with and trying to get access in personal e-mail account of the deceased.
Yesterday CBI officials had questioned Priyanka and her mother in separate sessions and also recorded the accounts of several other people, including Rizwanur's three uncles.
The body of Rizwanur, who married Priyanka, the daughter of businessman Ashok Todi against his wishes, was found beside railway tracks on September 21 evoking suspicion of a foul play.
His death evoked a public outcry leading to the removal of five police officers, including the Kolkata Police Commissioner Prasun Mukherjee.
