Shimla, Oct 24: Putting to rest all speculations about the BSP being the refuge of the dissident Congress and BJP candidates, two BSP leaders today said the party will give 80 per cent tickets to the youth and new faces in the ensuing assembly elections.
''As against a popular perception that the BSP will give tickets to dissident Congress and BJP leaders, the party will give 80 per cent tickets to youth,'' party leaders Man Singh Manhera and Vijai Singh Mankotia said at a press conference at Bilaspur.
The BSP, instead of repeating old faces, would look for new candidates with integrity as against the BJP and the Congress, who were likely to give tickets to veteran and aging leaders, they said.
Seeking peoples' mandate to bring about qualitative improvement in their lives, the BSP leaders accused both, the Congress and the BJP, for following anti-people policies during their successive terms.
Terming both the Congress and the BJP as ''corrupt'', the readers said, while the party had released an audio CD of Chief Minister Virbhadra Singh's ''shaddy deals'' just before the parliamentary election, earlier this year, seven legislators of the then Prem Kuamr Dhumal Government had written a letter of corrupt practices being followed by their own government.
