Union Minister and party general secretary in-charge Tripura, Prithiraj Chouhan is expected here early next month to discuss the election issues and sort out the internal differences among the TPCC leaders.
Eight out of 13 Congress MLAs including the leader of the Congress Legislative Party along with a large number of senior partymen had been demanding for replacement of present TPCC president and former chief minister Samir Ranjan Burman. They had met leaders including Sonia Gandhi and exerted pressure for Burman's replacement.
Meanwhile, the TPCC leaders are gearing up to receive Chouhan for his maiden visit here after taking over the charge of Tripura replacing Oscar Fernandez. Mr Burman said Mr Chouhan would discuss the organisational matters with PCC members and leaders of different levels in the state.
A dissident leader said that the issue of changing of TPCC president was still with the Congress high command.
