60 year old elephant 'Revathi'

Mysore, Oct 24 (UNI) Sixty year old elephant Revathi, which had participated in the 'Jamboo Savari', and two Mahouts sustained minor injury on his legs today when she was being transported to Balle Elephant Camp from Mysore Palace.

The incident occurred when a door of the lorry in which 'Revathi' and Mahouts were traveling broke and fell on them in the outskirts of the City.

Earlier, a warm farewell was accorded by the district administration to the 12 elephants which, after completing their duty successfully during Dasara Festivities, began their return journey to forest.

The elephants, led by Balarama, which carried the golden howdah during the world famous dasara procession on October 21 along with the Arjuna, Revanthi, Sarala, Varalakshmi, Gajendra, Abhimanyu, Bharatha, Srirama, Harsha, Virakama and Kanthi were transported to their respective camps in the trucks separately.
