Chandigarh, Oct 23 (UNI) Nearly 700 pharmaceutical intellectuals, academicians and scientists spearheading pharmacy education throughout the country would participate in the 12th Annual National Convention in the city, commencing on October 25.
''The three- day convention, which is being organised for the first time in this part of the country, aims to foster better communication among pharmacy educators and teachers across the country, to provide common platform to discuss the issues related to the pharmacy education and to discuss and evolve strategies for development of pharmacy education, research and role of pharmacists in clinical and community pharmacies,'' said UIPS chairman OP Katare.
The convention is being organised by Association of Pharmaceutical Teachers of India (APTI) under the aegis of University Institute of Pharmaceutical Sciences (UIPS) at Punjab University.
The theme of the convention is ''Reorienting Pharmaceutical Education For Future Challenges''.
According to Mr Katare, the convention, in which representatives of pharma industry would also participate, would provide an opportunity to identify the current needs of the pharma industry and revise the undergrduate and the postgraduate curricula accordingly.
During the convention, distinguished pharmacy educators and researchers would also be honoured.
