Social audit of midday meal scheme

Lucknow, Oct 23 (UNI) With the purpose of ensuring transparency, six organisations have been nominated as vistors to perform social audit of the midday meal scheme being implemented in primary schools.

According to Principal Secretary, primary education, Rohit Nandan, Mahila Samakhya, Akansha Samiti, Lions' Club, Rotary Club, Indian Medical Association and Army Wives' Welfare Association have been nominated as vistors.

These social auditors will monitor the implementation of the scheme and submit their report to the concerned district magistrate.

The chairpersons of these bodies will attend the district level task force meeting of this scheme as special invitees, for which they will not be paid any travelling allowance, a government release said here today.

Besides, each DM can nominate one reputed organisation as vistor for social audit of this scheme.
